A shooting schedule is simply what day and what time you are going to be filming and who's going to be there. It important because you want to make sure your actors and your crew are there at the same time. So you can reduce cost and time wasted on the film. For example, you are making a stranded film. You want your character to grow a beard, he spends a few weeks growing the beard then you film all the scenes with the beard. Then you finally film the scenes without the beard.
